Delete Account

1. Which App This Is For

This page explains the account deletion instructions for the Whisperio mobile app (listed as "Whisperio" on the App Store / Google Play, developer: Whisperio).

2. How to Delete Your Account

You can use either of two methods:

A) From within the app (if you are signed in):
1. Open the app and go to the Profile tab
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap "Delete Account"
4. Confirm the action on the confirmation screen

B) If the app is not installed (from this page, via the web):
Enter the email address registered to your account into the form below — we will send you a one-time confirmation link that permanently deletes your account when clicked.

With either method, the action takes effect immediately after confirmation — there is no additional waiting period.

3. Data That Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems:

• Profile information (email address, password, gender, date of birth, interests, username)
• All your chats and message history
• Your feed posts, comments, and kindness messages
• Your wallet (token) transaction history
• Your reputation feedback
• Your block list
• Reports you have filed and reports filed against you (except as described in section 4 below)
• Notification preferences and your push notification token

4. Data That Is Retained

After account deletion, none of your data is retained in our active systems, with five exceptions: (1) If a legal obligation arises (e.g. an ongoing legal dispute or a request from an official authority), data may exceptionally be retained, limited to what that obligation requires and for as long as it requires. (2) Security/abuse-prevention login records (login time, IP address, device/app information) and the IP address you registered from — even after your account is deleted, these are kept for 12 months from the date they were created to enable investigation of suspected fraud/abuse, and then deleted automatically; they are not used for any other purpose. (3) If there is a report against you, you filed a report (dismissed reports excluded), content you sent in a chat or posted in the Feed was blocked on suspicion of sexualizing minors, or your account was closed for violating our rules (banned): the related report and moderation records and the reported or blocked message, post and comment content (including photos/voice) are kept for community safety and possible legal proceedings, accessible only to the authorized team, for 1 year from deletion, and are then deleted automatically. This content is not shown to other users — your messages appear as "deleted" in chats. (4) If your account was closed for violating our rules, an irreversible keyed digest (hash) of your email address and Google/Apple account ID is kept indefinitely to prevent the same person from registering again; your email address cannot be recovered from this digest. (5) The messages you sent in the last 30 days (including photos/voice), together with the originals of messages you had deleted or edited but that automated moderation had flagged, are kept for 1 year from deletion so they can still be reported and for community safety, accessible only to the authorized team, and then deleted automatically; they are not shown to other users.

5. Deleting Partial Data Without Deleting Your Account

If you want to delete only specific data without deleting your entire account:

• Your feed posts: in the "My Posts" list on the Profile tab, tap the trash icon on your post and confirm — deletion is immediate and permanent
• Your profile information: you can change or remove your gender (including "Prefer not to say") and interests from Settings > Edit Profile. Your date of birth is used for age verification and cannot be changed in the app; to have it corrected, contact the address below
• Your conversations: in the Chats screen you can swipe a conversation to remove it from your own list, and delete your message history with a friend on your side with "Delete Messages" — this does not affect the other participant; these actions only apply to your own view, and the data is retained in the database for moderation/security purposes
• Your messages: in a chat, long-press a message you sent and tap "Delete Message" to delete it for everyone (a photo/voice message file is deleted too; a photo/voice file whose automated scan has not finished yet is deleted once the scan finishes, within 2 days at most). If you delete or edit a message that automated moderation has flagged, its original (including versions before edits) is kept for 1 year, accessible only to the moderation team, and then deleted automatically

Deleting an individual comment is not currently supported — your comments are only removed when you delete your entire account.
